๑. ให้ผลตามคราว
๑.๑ ทิฏฐธรรมเวทนียกรรม กรรมให้ผลในภพนี้ หมายถึง กรรมที่สัตว์ทั้งหลายจะพึงได้รับผลในชาตินี้ สามารถให้ผลในปัจจุบันภพ โดยไม่ต้องรับผลในชาติหน้าหรือชาติอื่นๆ เรียกอีกอย่างหนึ่งว่า "กรรมทันตาเห็น" คือ ให้ได้เห็น ให้ได้ยิน ให้ได้กลิ่น ให้ได้ลิ้มรส ให้รู้สึกกับการสัมผัสสิ่งที่ดี และไม่ดีในภพปัจจุบัน แต่ไม่สามารถที่จะทำให้เจ้าของกรรมได้รับผลในชาติหน้าหรือชาติอื่นๆต่อไป ไม่ว่าจะให้ไปเกิดในสุคติภูมิหรือทุคติภูมิก็ตาม เพราะกุศลเจตนาหรืออกุศลเจตนา ในขณะทำกรรมอยู่มีกำลังอ่อน แบ่งเป็น ๒ คือ
๑. ปริปักกทิฏฐธรรมเวทนียกรรม กรรมที่มีกำลังแก่กล้าแล้ว สามารถให้ได้รับผลเห็นในชาตินี้ภายใน ๗ วัน
๒. อปริปักกทิฏฐธรรมเวทนียกรรม กรรมกรรมที่ยังไม่ถึงความแก่กล้าเต็มที่ แต่สามารถบันดาลให้เจ้าของกรรมได้รับผลในชาตินี้ หลังจากที่เขาได้กระทำกรรมแล้วล่วงเลย ๗ วัน เป็นต้นไป
๑.๒ อุปปัชชเวทนียกรรม กรรมให้ผลต่อเมื่อเกิดในภพหน้า หมายถึง กรรมที่ให้ผลในชาติที่สอง คือ เมื่อบุคคลทำกรรมนี้แล้วย่อมได้รับผลแห่งกรรมที่ตนทำในชาติหน้า ต่อจากชาตินี้แน่นอน และเป็นกรรมที่ต้องได้รับผลเมื่อสิ้นใจจากภพปัจจุบัน เข้าสู่ภพที่สองแบ่งเป็น ๒ คือ
๑. อุปปัชชเวทนียกรรมฝ่ายกุศล ได้แก่ กรรมฝ่ายกุศลที่หนัก คือ มหัคคตกุศล อันจะกล่าวในเรื่อง ครุกรรม ต่อไป
๒. อุปปัชชเวทนียกรรมฝ่ายอกุศล ได้แก่ บาปหนัก หมายถึง อนันตริยกรรมทั้ง ๕ และอีกอย่างหนึ่ง คือนิยตมิจฉาทิฏฐิกรรม ได้แก่ ความเห็นผิดที่ดิ่งจนไม่สามารถแก้ไขได้
๓. อปราปรเวทนียกรรม กรรมให้ผลในภพสืบๆ ไป หมายถึง เมื่อบุคคลทำกรรมแล้วย่อมได้รับผลแห่งกรรมที่ทำนั้นตั้งแต่ชาติที่ ๓ เป็นต้นไป อย่างหลีกเลี่ยงไม่พ้น เป็นกรรมที่สามารถส่งผลให้ทันที เมื่อได้โอกาสในอนาคตกาล ตราบใดที่เจ้าของกรรมยังวนเวียนอยู่ในวัฏฏสงสาร อปราปรเวทนียกรรมจะป็นอโหสิกรรมไม่ได้ จนกว่าจะส่งผลเสร็จแล้วเท่านั้น
๔. อโหสิกรรม กรรมให้ผลเสร็จแล้ว หมายถึง กรรมที่ล่วงเลยเวลา ส่งผลให้แก่บุคคลผู้เป็นเจ้าของกรรม คือเจตนาที่อยู่ในทิฏฐธรรมเวทนียกรรมกับที่อุปปัชชเวทนียกรรม มีกำหนดในชาติที่ ๒ เท่านั้น และเจตนาที่อยู่ในอปราปรเวทนียกรรม มีกำหนดเวลาส่งผลยาวนาน ตั้งแต่ชาติที่ ๓ เป็นต้นไป จนกว่าเจ้าของกรรมจะบรรลุพระอรหัตตผล และดับขันธปรินิพพาน เจตนาดังกล่าวนี้ เมื่อล่วงเลยเวลาตามที่กำหนดแล้ว ก็ไม่สามารถส่งผลให้เจ้าของกรรมได้
